Film critic and movie trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that the December 1st-week releases in the past 2 years have been blockbusters, with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar completing the hat-trick of hits.
He wrote. "IT'S A HAT-TRICK: THE *FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER* PROVES TO BE A MONEYSPINNER...For three consecutive years, the *first week of December* has delivered major boxoffice triumphs. 2023 [1 Dec]: #Animal and #SamBahadur, 2024 [5 Dec]: #Pushpa2, 2025 [5 Dec]: #Dhurandhar."
Adarsh went on to add, "The period has clearly become a lucrative window for big-ticket releases, with audiences turning up in massive numbers and exhibitors witnessing exceptional footfalls.
Concluding the note, he wrote, "However, while release dates do give films a strategic advantage, it ultimately boils down to content... A favourable release period may attract initial attention, but only solid storytelling, strong performances, and impactful execution can sustain momentum and drive long-term success. The December first week hat-trick simply reinforces a time-tested truth: timing helps, but content wins."
