Kubbra Sait is all set to return as Sana in the second season of The Trial. In an exclusive chat with Zoom, the actress opened up about reprising her role,
exploring new layers of her character, and sharing screen space with Kajol once again.

Talking about her excitement for season 2, Kubbra said, “It’s my first ever season 2. I’ve never done that. I’ve never had the chance to go and explore a character and then remember the character two years later and work with a whole new team. It was fascinating for me.”
She also spoke about her character Sana, who appeared mysterious in the first season. “For Sana, she’s super secretive and things like that, right? There’s very little that you know about Sana from season one. And I think there is an added mystery to her. But in the second season, you will see her be more confident as a friend. She finds that in Noyonika. For her to open up and find a friend is a very big transformation. The second season allows you to explore more layers and humanity in the character, because now you’re invested in these characters and I was invested in Sana. She’s a pretty awesome chick. Like she’s got her issues, which is pretty awesome.”
Kubbra also couldn’t stop praising Kajol, who plays Noyonika. She said, “It was just incredible to work with Kajol because, like I said, Sana finds a friend and Kajol is that person who you can be a friend with. Not that hard. She really is fun and she’s a strong woman, she’s a secure woman. So I had fun working with her.”
The show will premiere on JioHotstar on September 19.
