What is the story about?
Makers of Jana Nayagan paid an emotional tribute to the cinematic journey of Thalapathy Vijay, who has now vowed to devote himself completely to his political
party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and fulfil his duties as the serving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The movie, touted to be the actor-turned-politician's last big screen outing, released on July 23 amid a lot of excitement from fans. The H Vinoth directorial arrived in theatres after a lot of delay and high anticipation. And Vijay seemingly did not disappoint. After welcoming his arrival in the form of a nation-wide festival, fans thronged the cinema halls much before the start of the FDFS. And as the movie came to an end, they got a bittersweet treat which not many saw coming.

As the end credits rolled, the makers of Jana Nayagan presented a special clip of Vijay through his acting career, tracing his life as an actor and the various characters he's played on screen - from a lover boy to a vigilante and a superstar.
Vijay's last big screen outing
Jana Nayagan released after months of delay due to certification issues and a massive leak scandal. Vijay had earlier announced that he would retire from acting after its completion. The decision made the movie one of the most awaited Indian releases of recent times. Months before the project arrived in the cinemas, fans had started celebrating it with campaigns on social media, fan-made posters and countdown events which highlight the significance of the actor's last outing.
For many, Jana Nayagan is not just another Vijay blockbuster, it is the closing chapter of a film career that has spanned over three decades. And since it marks the end of an era in his life, the makers knew what they had to offer and close the chapter with.

Jana Nayagan also features Pooja Hegde as the leading lead and Bobby Deol as the main villain. Veteran actors like Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Narain and many other notable performers play crucial roles. Anirudh Ravichander's music has already been charting from its album, which also offers his memorable background score.
Produced by KVN Productions, the film had a pan-Indian release across languages, one of the widest releases ever for a Vijay film, with premium format screenings and overseas distribution in major international markets too.
