The makers of Brown have unveiled the gripping trailer of the upcoming crime-thriller series, giving audiences a first look at Karisma Kapoor in one of her
most intense roles yet. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the ZEE5 original marks Karisma’s return to a leading role in the OTT space and sees her playing a troubled police officer battling a complex murder investigation and her own inner demons. Released on Saturday, May 30, the trailer introduces viewers to Rita Brown, portrayed by Karisma Kapoor, a disgraced cop carrying emotional baggage from her past. Haunted by guilt and unresolved trauma, Rita finds herself assigned to investigate the high-profile murder of a teenager.
The investigation starts to get tricky and Rita teams up with her junior officer Arjun Sinha, played by Surya Sharma. What initially appears to be a straightforward murder case develops into something far more sinister, with hidden secrets, unexpected suspects and multiple layers of mystery emerging along the way. The trailer shows Rita struggling to balance her professional responsibilities while confronting her own psychological scars. Her determination to uncover the truth appears to be tested at every step as another murder shocks the city, deepening the mystery.
One of the intriguing elements in the trailer is the character played by Jisshu Sengupta. The actor plays a psychiatrist who seems to possess critical information connected to the murders. His interactions with Rita suggest that he may hold important clues that could help unravel the truth behind the crimes. The trailer's dark visuals, tense background score and emotionally charged performances hint at a gripping viewing experience.

Brown is directed by Abhinay Deo, best known for acclaimed projects such as Delhi Belly and the Indian adaptation of 24. Produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, the series boasts an impressive ensemble cast beyond Karisma Kapoor. Apart from Jisshu Sengupta and Surya Sharma, the show also features Soni Razdan, Helen Khan, Paresh Pahuja, Ajinkya Deo and Aryann Bhowmik in pivotal roles.
The writing team includes Diggi Sissodia, Sunayana Kumari and Mayukh Gosh, while Suri Gopalan is credited for development. Behind the scenes, the series features cinematography by Amogh Deshpande, editing by Huzefa Lokhandwala and production design by Shiuli Thukral, who is also the creative producer.
