Following his National Film Awards win, Kartik Aaryan is turning a producer with Dopamine Studios. He has officially come on board to bankroll his upcoming
collaboration with Kabir Khan. The yet-untitled project marks Kartik and Kabir’s second collaboration after the 2024 biographical sports drama Chandu Champion, based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, for which the former recently won the Best Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards. The film will be announced soon. According to reports, Kartik has already started shooting for the movie.
Kartik Aaryan to produce Tajamul Islam biopic
Inspired by an extraordinary real-life story, Kabir’s directorial will see Kartik playing a kickboxing coach who helps shape the journey of a young girl from Kashmir. The story is understood to draw inspiration from the life of Tajamul Islam, the young Kashmiri athlete who rose to international prominence as a kickboxing champion. As per sources, Kartik was drawn to the project from the moment he heard the story. Hence, he was determined to back the film through his newly launched Dopamine Studios.

A source close to the development said, “Kartik connected with the story at a very deep level from the moment he heard it. He was moved by the courage, passion and conviction at the heart of the real journey and felt it was a story that deserved to reach a wider audience. His decision to step into production came from that belief and his desire to support the film on a deeper creative level.”
All about Tajamul Islam biopic starring Kartik Aaryan
Reportedly, Kartik has also undergone kickboxing training for the role. The film is currently underway, with important sequences being shot across Mumbai and Kashmir. The cast of the upcoming biopic is expected to be announced soon. The makers will be sharing the release date in the coming months.
