Dhanush’s unexpected attendance at Mrunal Thakur’s Son Of Sardaar 2 premiere in Mumbai raised many eyebrows. In no time, gossip mills churned out speculations
around their budding relationship. Amidst dating rumours, a source confirmed the news to a portal. However, Mrunal dismissed it as false. In a recent interview with a South-based publication, the actress clarified that Dhanush was on her Son Of Sardaar 2 co-star Ajay Devgn’s guest list and not hers.

Mrunal told Only Kollywood, “Dhanush is just a good friend to me. I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it. Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him.”

Mrunal and Dhanush dating rumours
According to News18’s report, a source said, “Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new and they've no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they're unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they're quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts.”
The source further shared, “The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it's during an event down South where she met Dhanush.”
Dhanush was previously married to Rajinikanth’s elder daughter Aishwaryaa. The couple has two sons - Yatra and Linga. Dhanush and Aishwaryaa confirmed their separation in 2022, and their divorce was legalised in 2024.
