Tamannaah Bhatia has become synonymous with iconic dance numbers! After Stree 2’s Aaj Ki Raat and The Ba***ds of Bollywood’s Ghafoor, she is the first
name that comes to mind when talking about special songs. And, did you know? Dhurandhar choreographer Vijay Ganguly initially wanted her for Shararat. However, the suggestion was rejected by director Aditya Dhar. Prioritising the story over star appeal, the filmmaker went ahead with Ayesha Khan and Krystle D'Souza as he wanted the focus to remain on the narrative rather than a single performer. Dhurandhar Director Aditya Dhar Rejected Tamannaah Bhatia In an interview with Filmy Gyan, Vijay revealed, "There were many options and auditions considered for the two girls." Asked if Tamannaah's name came up, he said, "In my head, she was (the one). I had suggested her, but Aditya sir was very clear that he did not want what people call an item song, something that went out of the story. If it were just about one girl, it would have taken attention away from the story. That's why there are two girls, not one. He didn't want the attention to be about this one person. If it was Tamannaah, it would've been about her and not the story." He also spoke about how the wedding reception scene of Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun was crucial and had a lot happening beyond the dance number. Aditya didn’t want to deviate from the story, even for a few minutes. That’s why Shararat was treated as “just a cut-to song.” Shararat Fever Grips Internet Looks like the casting worked wonders in Aditya’s favour. Both the song and its leading ladies have won hearts online. Just like the title track, Fa9la, and other songs from the film, this one is going viral on social media. Recently, Priyanka Chopra’s husband, Nick Jonas, broke the internet with his video of the dance number.
