After seeing Isha turn heads at the international event, netizens were impressed. But they had one question on their mind? And it was regarding her mango accessory, which they wondered was real or not. During an interview with Vogue India at the event, Isha clarified that she didn't carry a real mango.
"The mango is a sculpture by Subodh Gupta, who’s another Indian artist," she said. Isha further revealed that her accessory was made of a steel, adding that its is 20-year-old sculpture. She went on to talk about her gajra-inspired hair accessory, which was mae by an Indian, Brooklyn-based artist. "He works on creating these flowers. I was really lucky that I got to wear one of his creations," she added.
For the unversed, Isha's entire Met Gala 2026 outfit was crafted over 1200 hours by over 50 artisans. Gaurav Gupta, via his Instagram handle, shared that over 1800 carats of diamonds along with polki, kundan and emeralds were embedded into the blouse. The theme for the event this year was 'Fashion is Art'.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar made his Met Gala debut this year. The Bollywood filmmaker wore a custom Manish Malhotra outfit, which has been inspired by Raja Ravi Varma. In his IG post, Karan mentioned that his Met Gala moment wasn't just about fashion for him. Instead, it was about storytelling and taking the legacy of Raja Ravi Varma not on canvas, but in motion.
