Ram Charan has become a new king of the box office in the South Indian film industries. The actor’s recent film, Peddi, turned out to be a massive hit
despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics. Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu Sana, and it also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. According to the latest post shared by the makers on social media, Ram Charan’s Peddi is now inching closer to cross the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office worldwide. The film has now become South India’s No 1 grosser of 2026.
Peddi Rules Box Office
The Peddi team shared a poster on Instagram in which they celebrated the bumper success of the Ram Charan starrer. In the caption, they mentioned that Peddi has minted Rs 393 crore worldwide in 11 days. The Janhvi Kapoor starrer is running successfully in the second week as well.
Peddi is now inching closer to crossing the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office in the upcoming days. Ram Charan has now become ‘Box Office Pehelwan’. It has to be noted that Peddi has become the highest-grossing film in South India. The film witnessed a drop in its numbers during weekdays, but surprisingly, the sports drama’s collections picked up on the second weekend. In just 11 days, Peddi managed to earn Rs 393 crore worldwide.
About Peddi
Peddi had been in the news for the objectionable portrayal of the female protagonist, Janhvi Kapoor, in the film. The netizens didn’t like Janhvi’s objectionable scenes in the film. Due to the backlash, the makers removed such moments from the film.
Director Buchi Babu Sana also apologised for the same and removed the scenes from Peddi. At the success event, Jagapathi Babu thanked the haters for criticising Peddi, as it helped the film to be in the news, because of which the audience watched it in theatres.
Peddi also features Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, Ravi Kishan and others in key roles. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment, with co-producer Ishan Saksena.
Peddi has music composed by AR Rahman and it has been shot by cinematographer R Rathnavelu. The film has been edited by V Y Praveen Kumar. Peddi was released in theatres on June 4 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. It clearly defeated Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai at the box office.
