Dhurandhar's magic refuses to die, and Karan Johar has praises the film yet again. The filmmaker, whose recent production under his Dharma banner, Tu Meri
Main Teri Main Tera Tu Meri starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday released at the box office, continues to laud 2025's biggest movie. Karan Johar picks Dhurandhar as one of his favourite films of 2025
Johar was speaking at the recent roundtable of Anupama Chopra. He revealed how his 2025 at the cinema was. While he claimed the year for him started with loving Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the year ended with loving Dhurandhar. Johar also picked Malayalam female superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra led by Kalyani Priyadarshan as one of the movies he appreciated. He had earlier shared his review of Dhurandhar soon after its release, calling it outstanding.
Johar said, "I was like, blown away by Dhurandhar, it makes you feel like, oh my craft is limited. Oh my god, look at the use of background music. What I loved about Dhurandhar was that I didn’t feel that the director was self-aware. I felt like he wasn’t trying to show off his craft, and yet he was seamlessly telling you the story."
"I never felt he went wide or he went like I am going to show you a great frame, I felt it was beautifully shot without self-awareness. It made me question my ability as a filmmaker, and that’s always a good thing for me. I look at that through a positive lens. So I began the year loving Saiyaara and ended the year loving Dhurandhar. I loved Lokah, too. I went mad when I watched Lokah," he added.
