What is the story about?
Tara Sutaria returned to the big screen after a gap of four years with Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups. She plays the role of Rebecca, the daughter of a gangster,
who falls in love with Yash's Raya. In a rare interview for the film's promotion, Tara opened up about being diagnosed with dyscalculia, a learning disability that affects a person's math-solving ability and performing number-based operations. The actress credited her father for helping her with her finances and said she needs a team for assistance.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Tara said, "I am lucky because my dad helps me with my finances. It is very important to know everything about your bank work, your paperwork, how to really take care of your finances as a woman." The actress added that she tries to learn and understand as much as she can, but due to the Math learning disability, 'more often than not I make a mistake'. "I need my team. My accounts team looks into everything," she shared.
Tara added, "I have a diverse portfolio. I am learning as I go. These are conversations I have with my friends, who have the best understanding. I love homes and I love investing in that."

Tara made her acting debut with Student Of The Year 2 in 2019. The film also marked Ananya Panday's debut. Tiger Shroff was the male lead. The rom-com performed decently at the box office. In the same year, Tara featured in Marjaavaan with Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra. She played a mute Muslim Kashmiri woman in the film.
Tara's next films, Tadap (2021), Heropanti 2 (2022), and Ek Villain Returns (2022) received heavy criticism and failed at the box office as well. Apurva, on JioHotstar, presented her as the solo lead in an action avatar. The survival drama received mixed responses, but Sutaria's performance was appreciated.

In Toxic, Tara's character Rebecca has a brief screentime, but it is an integral part of the narrative. At the film's trailer launch in Bengaluru on August 8, Yash praised her dedication and said, "We were seeing how we could make each character unique. But then your presence gave us so much, that in fact we increased your scenes more than what it was written. It was all because of your fabulous presence, your efforts and your elegance. You added a lot of elegance to the film and thanks for being a part of it."
Toxic is currently running successfully in theatres in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
