Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt have always proved to be a great director-actor duo in Bollywood. As per recent reports, they are planning to reunite
after 20 years to make a Hindi remake of the filmmaker's 2024 Marathi movie, Juna Furniture.
Mahesh Manjrekar, Sanjay Dutt are reuniting again?
As per reports by Bollywood Hungama, "Mahesh Manjrekar directed Juna Furniture and he played the main lead. The film got a lot of critical acclaim for its message, subject and performances. Mahesh realized that it has the potential to touch the Hindi-speaking audiences as well. Hence, he has begun work on the scripting of the Hindi remake.”

Further hinting at Sanjay's participation, the source claimed, "He has approached Sanjay Dutt as he feels that the veteran actor will do complete justice to the role. Both Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt are fond of each other. They have had a great time working with each other and it’s been a while since they collaborated on a project. This was also a reason why the filmmaker was keen on getting the actor on board. However, Sanjay Dutt is yet to reply to Mr Manjrekar on whether he'll be able to act in the remake.”

On the professional front, Sanjay is gearing up for his next big-screen appearance in Dhurandar, directed, written, and produced by Aditya Dhar. The action-packed drama will mark his first collaboration with Ranveer Singh. The film also stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna in significant roles, with Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Jimmy Sheirgill in the supporting cast.
Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandar is set against the backdrop of a high-stakes intelligence mission. Currently in production, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on December 5. Sanjay also has Prabhas' The Raja Saab in the pipeline.
