What is the story about?
Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are set to reunite on screen after a long gap in a new film which is currently known as KH x RK, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
The project also marks Rajinikanth’s reunion with the director of Jailer. Amid growing speculation about the cast, attention turned to Kamal Haasan’s daughter, actor-singer Shruti Haasan, with rumours suggesting her possible involvement. However, Shruti has now clarified her stance on the film and addressed the ongoing reports. She also shared her thoughts on the film and her admiration for the legendary duo.
Shruti Haasan clears the air on KH x RK
Shruti Haasan has put an end to speculation about her involvement in Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth’s upcoming film KH x RK, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Speaking at a recent awards event, she confirmed that she is not part of the project. She revealed that she had recently met both her father, Kamal Haasan, and Rajinikanth recently but this was not for their film.
She went on to say that she is associated with the film in any way. Shruti Haasan said that she looking forward to seeing director Nelson Dilipkumar’s vision come to life. Having worked with Rajinikanth in Coolie, she mentioned that the experience made her a fan of the superstar, and called the film as a major celebration for the industry, bringing together two cinema legends.
Shruti has previously shared screen space with Rajinikanth in Coolie.
Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth’s reunion
The film marks a major cinematic reunion for Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, who last appeared together in a full-length role in Ninaithale Inikkum (1979). They later shared screen space briefly in Thillu Mullu (1981), where Kamal Haasan made a cameo appearance. Their journey together began much earlier with Apoorva Raagangal (1975), directed by K. Balachander, which also featured Srividya, Sundarrajan, Nagesh, and Jayasudha.
Apart from KH x RK, the two stars are also expected to collaborate on another project titled Thalaivar 173. Rajinikanth will play the lead role, while Kamal Haasan is attached as a producer under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International. Recently, the social media account of Raaj Kamal Films International shared birthday post to director Ashwath Marimuthu hinting about his involvement in Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 173. Fans remain confused as Cibi Chakravarthy was first announced to direct the film. Prior to it, Sundar C was set to work with the two legends, however, he announced his exit from the film without citing any reasons. He revealed that he continues to admire the two legends.
