Daldal trailer featuring Bhumi Pednekkar as DCP Rita Ferreira
On social media, Amazon Prime Video unveiled the trailer and posted, “The past isn’t here to haunt. It’s here to hunt. #DaldalOnPrime, New Series, Jan 30. “ Written by Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza, and Priya Saggi, Daldal is set in Mumbai with a tense game of cat and mouse.
The trailer uses the song Gumnaam Hai Koi from the Bollywood suspense film Gumnaam (1965) with Manoj Kumar and Nanda. It shows Ferreira deep in the unsettling investigation about a serial killer who brutally kills his victims and shoves a chicken down their throats as a symbol or warning. The whole cold, dark, and mysterious tone of Daldal gives off Dexter vibes. The dialogues of the Hindi series have been penned by Suresh Triveni and Hussain Haidry.
Bhumi Pednekkar on Daldal and Rita Ferreira
In a statement, the actress spoke about her character Rita Ferreira, calling it a creatively fulfilling experience in her career. She hoped the character would resonate with viewers as the show held a special place in her heart.
Pednekkar stated, “She is a woman forged by ambition, haunted by doubt, and burdened by the weight of her past – a character who demanded that I explore the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength in ways I had never done before. Stepping into her world was both challenging and deeply rewarding, as Rita's journey mirrors the complexities we all face when confronting our own demons. Reuniting with Vikram [Malhotra], after the hugely successful Toilet-Ek Prem Katha, was like a homecoming.”
