Kajol celebrates 30 years of DDLJ
Kajol’s Instagram post’s caption read, “DDLJ completes 30 years today in time but the way it has spread around the world and through everybody’s hearts and minds simply cannot be counted .. thank u all for loving it in this phenomenal way! Slide to see how far it really has gone …”

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Kajol spoke about Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and said, “We never thought hum ye legacy banake chodenge when we made this film. We just thought we were making a good film. I’m humbled by the fact that so many people and fans have made it so much bigger, they’ve turned it into a tradition."
She further revealed, "I’ve had people come up to me and say, ‘We fell in love watching DDLJ, and when we had kids, we made them watch it too because we wanted to share that experience.’ They’ve intertwined it with their lives, it’s become a part of their own love stories. That’s not something I can take credit for. Ye meri wajah se hua hai, not at all."

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was Aditya’s directorial debut. Kajol played Simran, the female protagonist opposite Shah Rukh Khan’s Raj. The film also starred Amrish Puri, Fareeda Jalal, Anupam Kher, Parmeet Sethi, Mandira Bedi and many others.
