What is the story about?
Yash's much talked about Toxic is reportedly set for its digital premiere, almost a month after its grand theatrical release. Also featuring Kiara Advani,
Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi, the A-rated gangster drama is expected to land on OTT before the end of September 2026. While an official announcement is yet to be made, several reports doing the rounds on the internet suggest that the Geetu Mohandas directorial may have locked its OTT release date.
Toxic OTT Release Date And Platform
According to media reports, Toxic will have its OTT premiere on September 25 and will stream on Zee5. Those who did not get a chance to catch the Yash headlined film in theatres can now enjoy it from the comfort of their homes. However, an official announcement is still awaited.
Toxic, which marked Yash's return to the big screen after the blockbuster KGF Part 2, continued to be in the headlines prior to its release. It sparked discussions across social media platforms for its bold and violent scenes. Yash's star power and a strong ensemble of female actors created massive hype for the film.
It was earlier slated to clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar The Revenge in March before the release date was moved to June and then finally to August owing to tensions in the Middle East.
When Toxic finally hit theatres on August 26 amid increased anticipation levels, the box office exploded. Taking one of the biggest openings of 2026, the film has breached the Rs 100 crore mark on the opening day itself, with more than Rs 50 crore coming in from the Hindi belt alone. However, it all went downhill from here.
Toxic saw a sharp decline in collections from the second day itself owing to negative reviews and poor word of mouth. The film, which opened to over Rs 100 crore on Day 1, ended its theatrical run at around Rs 250 crore.
What Is Toxic All About?
Set in Goa between the 1940s and 1970s, Toxic follows Raya, a powerful gangster who rises through the criminal underworld by building his empire through smuggling, violence and betrayal. As Raya gains power, his relationships with his family become increasingly complicated. The story also focuses on his sister Ganga and his son Ticket, with Yash playing both Raya and Ticket. As loyalties change and rivalries grow, Raya is forced to confront the consequences of his choices.
