A powerful cloudburst struck Dharali village in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, last week, triggering severe flash floods. The sudden surge of water swept away
houses, trees, and vehicles. Reportedly, it left nearly 200 people stranded and caused multiple fatalities. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who had earlier expressed concern for the victims, has now urged people to step forward and support immediate relief efforts. Dharali Is Drowning In Silence: Sonu Sood The actor-philanthropist tweeted on Friday, "Dharali is drowning in silence—and we can't be silent anymore. 4 lives lost, nearly 100 missing, 12 hotels, homes, and shops swept away in seconds. What they built over decades vanished overnight. These aren’t just numbers—they're families, dreams, futures." He added, "We urge the government to introduce tax benefits and policy incentives for those who come forward to help rebuild after such disasters—so even those who never would’ve… start doing their bit. Let’s not wait for another headline. It’s time for governments, corporates, and citizens to stand together. To relocate, to rebuild, to restore dignity. Because tragedy chose them—but humanity must choose them now. #RebuildDharali #RiseTogether #ActWithCompassion #PolicyForRelief."
