one of the biggest opening weekends ever for a Hollywood film. After creating history with the biggest opening day for a Hollywood release in India, the Marvel blockbuster showed impressive growth over the weekend. On Day 4, the film crossed the coveted Rs 300 crore gross mark in India, cementing its status as one of the year's biggest theatrical successes. Strong occupancy across languages ensured the superhero spectacle maintained extraordinary momentum throughout its opening weekend.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day India Box Office Day 4
According to early estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected Rs 73.00 crore net in India on its first Sunday. This comes after the film earned Rs 60.60 crore on Thursday, Rs 49.35 crore on Friday and Rs 70.25 crore on Saturday. With this, the film's four-day India net collection stands at Rs 253.20 crore. Its India gross collection has now crossed the Rs 300 crore milestone, making it the fastest Hollywood release to achieve the feat in the country.
The film also recorded its best occupancy of the weekend on Sunday. Overall occupancy stood at 79.6 percent across 16,781 shows, indicating sustained audience demand despite already posting record-breaking numbers over the first three days.
The English version continued to dominate collections, contributing Rs 40.50 crore on Day 4 and the Hindi version delivered an equally impressive performance, earning Rs 29.00 crore while registering an exceptional 95 percent occupancy. The Tamil version added another Rs 3.50 crore with 77 percent occupancy across 1,115 shows.
The latest collections build on an already historic start for the Marvel film. On its opening day, Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected Rs 60.60 crore net, surpassing Avengers: Endgame to register the biggest opening day ever for a Hollywood release in India.
Spider-Man Brand New Day fails to beat Avengers Endgame in the USA
The film has also performed exceptionally well internationally. According to American trade estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned approximately USD 355 million domestically and USD 875 million worldwide by Sunday morning. Those figures make it the biggest Spider-Man opening of all time and the second-biggest global opening weekend in cinema history.
However, despite surpassing Spider-Man: No Way Home's opening weekend by around USD 95 million, the film fell just short of overtaking Avengers: Endgame, trailing the Marvel blockbuster by approximately USD 2 million.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth standalone Spider-Man film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the franchise's 38th feature film. Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya as MJ, while Sadie Sink joins the MCU as Jean Grey. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Jacob Batalon and Jon Bernthal in pivotal roles.
