Ashwin Kumar’s animated mythological film, Mahavatar Narsimha, kicked off the franchise on a blockbuster note. Backed by Hombale Films, the movie is running
successfully in theatres and is giving tough competition to new releases. Amid its blockbuster run in theatres, it might not release on streaming anytime soon. According to reports, Mahavatar Narsimha’s Hindi version will be streaming on JioHotstar after completing its theatrical run.
Mahavatar Narsimha OTT release
As per media reports, the Hindi version might find a home on JioHotstar; Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are expected to head to different OTT platforms, depending on licensing arrangements and existing partnerships. While it is not confirmed, Mahavatar Narsimha might premiere on OTT by the end of August or September. Looking at its performance, the post-theatrical release gap could be extended.

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, director Ashwin said, “Mahavatar Narsimha is releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Currently, it will be available for a global audience with English subtitles. Eventually, we plan to have English, Japanese, Spanish, Korean and Russian versions of the film.”
He added, “I am inspired by Korean and Japanese storytelling and their anime. I watch a lot of their content. It is about time we take our content to them.”
