Thalapathy Vijay and Jyotika's superhit film Kushi, is set to re-release in theatres. The SJ Suryah directorial, which released in 2000, is one of the most
celebrated films in Tamil cinema, thanks to the chemistry of the lead pair and the film's music.

Kushi is currently streaming on Prime Video. Kushi released on 19 May 2000 and was success at the box office. Following the re-release streak of Vijay's films Ghilli and Sachein, popular Tamil film distribution comapny, Shakti Film Factor is all set to re-release the film in theatres.

The cast of the film also features Vivekh, Mumtaj, Vijayakumar, and Nizhalgal Ravi. Late cinematographer-director Jeeva was as the cinematographer, while B Lenin and VT Vijayan were in charge of the editing.
Kushi tells the story of Jenny and Shiva, two young people from backgrounds who happen to attend the same college. Initially starting off as friends, with misunderstandings, the film follows how the life of two individuals fall in love despite fighting.
Produced by AM Rathnam, the movie was planned as a simultaneous release alongside Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi. However, the Telugu version faced production delays and was released in 2001.
