Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently left fans concerned after speaking about surgery, intensive care unit (ICU) stay, and recovery. Many assumed
the 83-year-old actor had been hospitalised following a health scare. However, Big B has clarified that he is doing perfectly fine. Taking to his blog, he stated that he has not undergone any surgery and explained that his social media post had been misunderstood. Sr Bachchan was apparently just using an example to talk about how the period following surgery or an ICU stay can be the most challenging as one has to cope with a changed physical condition during recovery. He was referring to Argentina's loss to Spain in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final and Messi's heartbreaking moment. The actor added that when a champion loses, the hardest battle is often dealing with oneself in the aftermath.
Amitabh Bachchan Clarifies He Did NOT Undergo Surgery
In his latest blog,Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "I am fine... misunderstood post. I was giving an example that the period after a surgery or ICU incident the most difficult time is when you come home and have to deal with your damaged condition. So... when a Champion looses, the most difficult time is dealing with yourself in its aftermath. Ref. Argentina loss and Messi as Champion that lost. People have assumed its reference to me... assumed incorrectly."
The veteran actor further spoke about champions and resilience. He said that every champion must understand that another champion eventually takes their place. He added that it can be difficult for a champion to accept being replaced, but such is the nature of life. Drawing a comparison with recovery after a medical procedure, Sr Bachchan explained that while surgery or treatment may resolve an illness, the most challenging phase often comes afterwards, when a person has to adapt to changes in their body. He said that the body is remarkable in its ability to adjust and continue functioning, even if not exactly as before.
The Kalki 2898 AD actor added, "The body when worked upon can bring results, perhaps not like before, but results it brings... the Champion can get up from his fallen state, fight back to being champion again"
