What is the story about?
aThree years after Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan will return with a new big-screen spectacle, King. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film has been in the works
for a while now. The movie will mark Suhana Khan's (daughter of Shah Rukh) silver screen debut. She ventured into acting with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies, which was a Netflix release. Talking about King, the latest update is that the makers have apparently scrapped its Dubai schedule amid the West Asia tensions. According to a media report, a massive action desert action sequence, ft. Suhana and Anil Kapoor, was to be shot there.
Suhana Khan's King action sequence to be shot in Mumbai?
A Mid-Day report suggests that the ongoing conflict in West Asia made Siddharth call off King's international schedule and reimagine it in Mumbai. It further mentions that the Dubai schedule was locked much in advance. The makers had necessary permissions to shoot in the emirate, a source close to the production said.
The schedule was supposed to be a week-long, starting April 9. However, due to the current situation, the makers apparently decided not to take any risk with cast and crew's safety. After reportedly scrapping the Dubai schedule, the makers of King are likely to shoot the action sequence in a Vile Parle studio in Mumbai. The report suggests that production team has recreated a desert landscape in the studio.
"They’ve gone all out to match the scale that Siddharth envisioned for the set-piece. In fact, this gives them more control over action beats and lighting. The sequence begins with a chase, resulting in an intense combat," a source told the tabloid.
More about King
Meanwhile, the first few glimpses of King feature Shah Rukh Khan in a deadly avatar. The Bollywood superstar sports a salt-and-pepper look for Siddharth's gangster drama. Apart from SRK and his daughter Suhana, the film's star cast includes Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Akshaye Oberoi, Abhay Verma, and others. Some sequences of the film have been apparently filmed across Mumbai, and Warsaw, Poland.
If media reports are to be believed, King tells the story of a deadly assassin, who mentors a young woman to navigate through a dangerous. It has been scheduled for a grand theatrical release on December 24, 2026, coinciding with Christmas. On the work front, SRK was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki.
