Remember Aashiesh Sharma - the actor who played Lord Rama in Siya Ke Ram? Well, the actor recently came up with his new project, Khejdi, which is streaming
on Stage. During its promotions, Zoom exclusively interacted with Aashiesh. In conversation with us, the actor recalled portraying Lord Rama on screen. Apart from that, the actor shared his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor essaying the same role in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part 1 and 2. The mythological epic is scheduled to release in theatres on Diwali 2026. The second part releases on Diwali 2027.
Aashiesh Sharma on Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama
Speaking exclusively to us, Aashiesh stated that Ranbir Kapoor is a 'fine actor'. "I’m sure he will bring his own sincerity and depth to the role. Characters like Lord Ram are timeless. Every generation interprets them differently, and that’s the beauty of these stories," he said.
The Khejdi actor further called Ramayana director Nitesh Tiwari an 'extremely sensitive storyteller'. And that's why Aashiesh believes it will be interesting to see how his vision unfolds on screen. Continuing the conversation, the actor reflected on playing Lord Rama in the TV show Siya Ke Ram.
"It was a blessing more than anything else. For me, portraying Lord Ram was never just a role it was a responsibility. I approached it not merely as an actor, but as a bhakt. And I truly believe that characters like these choose you; you don’t choose them. The love and respect I continue to receive for that portrayal is something I will always remain deeply grateful for. It stays with you for life," he said.

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is one of the most anticipated projects of this year. The film stars Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lord Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Yash as demon king Ravana. Apart from them, the star cast includes Indira Krishnan, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, and others. The mythological epic has been produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and Yash's Monster Mind Creations.

Apart from Siya Ke Ram, Aashiesh has been a part of television shows like Prithvi Vallabh, Chandragupta Maurya, Gunahon Ka Devta, Rab Se Sohna Isshq, Rangrasiya, and more.
