Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan reunited for a film, Haiwaan, after 18 years since Tashan. The Bollywood actors collaborated on Priyadarshan's Haiwaan, which
is said to be the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Oppam. The makers recently dropped Haiwaan's official teaser, giving audiences a sneak peek of what's in store for them. While there's a month to the thriller's release, its official OTT partner has already been revealed. Haiwaan OTT Release Update
As per Haiwaan's official character posters, Akshay and Saif's film will premiere on SonyLIV after concluding its theatrical run. Having said that, the OTT release date of this project remains unknown the makers haven't made any official announcement regarding it. It is to be noted that a Hindi film generally lands on streaming after 45 to 60 days of its release. And while Haiwaan will have OTT premiere on SonyLIV, the film's satellite rights have beens sold to Sony Max, as per the posters.
For those unaware, Haiwaan, according to IMDb, revolves around a blind martial artist who protects a girl from a psychopath killer. Saif plays the role of a blind martial artist and Akshay is the main antagonist of the project. After the posters were unveiled on social media, Akshay revealed that he is essaying Haiwaan and his character has no grey shades, but is 'out and out' evil.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, the actor said that he always wanted to play a psycho on the big screen. "With my last four-five films, I have tried to switch between completely different genres: comedy, horror, action, drama," he added. Akshay further stated that this is the first time he is playing 'evil' in truest sense. He wanted to challenge himself and Haiwaan was that challenge for him.

Helmed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan is scheduled for a big-screen release on September 11, 2026. Apart from Saif and Akshay, the film's star cast includes Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Boman Irani, Rajesh Sharma, and others. Mohanlal, who played a pivotal role in Oppam, is rumoured to have a cameo appearance in the thriller. However, there is no official confimation about it.
