Shilpa Shetty on Thursday informed the Bombay High Court that she is withdrawing her application seeking permission to travel to Los Angeles, as the trip
is no longer happening. Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, are currently facing a Rs 60 crore cheating case filed by Deepak Kothari. He has alleged that Shilpa and Raj have misused funds invested in their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, between 2015 and 2023.
Shilpa Shetty withdraws plea to travel abroad
According to a report in Free Press Journal, the Dhadkan actress' lawyer, Niranjan Mundargi, told the bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad that the travel plan had fallen through. “She was the only Indian actor invited to the event, but it is not happening,” he said, adding that a fresh application will be filed if they wish to travel in the future.
The couple had earlier approached the court to suspend the Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against them by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing, which is investigating the case. They also sought permission to travel abroad for professional and personal reasons between October 2025 and January 2026. While Kundra later dropped his travel plans, Shetty had requested to visit the U.S. with her son.

Court previously questioned Shipa's travel amid Rs 60 crore fraud allegations
During previous hearings, the court had questioned the request for leisure travel while the two face serious allegations, suggesting their plea would be considered only if they deposited the ₹60 crore in dispute.
On Thursday, the court accepted Shetty’s withdrawal and scheduled the hearing on the couple’s LOC suspension plea for November 17. The court also noted that any future travel requests must include full details and be submitted as a fresh application.
Both Shetty and Kundra have previously appeared for questioning and claim to have fully cooperated with the investigation.
