Thalapathy Vijay's swansong, Jana Nayagan, is finally set to arrive in cinemas on July 23 after months of unexpected hurdles. Originally slated for a Pongal
release on January 9, the film was pushed back following delays in the censorship process. The H Vinoth directorial also suffered setback when a high-definition version of the film was leaked online ahead of its theatrical release. With the film now just two days away from hitting theatres, director H Vinoth has opened up on Vijay's reaction to the film's leak and he encouraged him during some of the most difficult moments of the shoot.

In a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, H Vinoth said both Vijay and Ajith Kumar are known for looking after the people they work with. Talking about his experience with Vijay, the director revealed that the actor always prioritised the well-being of the team whenever problems were there.
Talking about Vijay's reaction to the film's leak, he said "Whenever something happened, whether it was a delay in getting the censor certificate, a leak, or any similar issue Vijay sir would call me and say, 'Don't worry. Everything will be fine. These things happen. We'll deal with it'". He said that the actor's ability to reassure those around him is one of the reasons he has such respect in the industry.

Vijay's Jana Nayagan has finally received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after nearly seven months of delay. The board has ordered 12 cuts to the final version of the film, including the removal of two swear words. According to the CBFC's certification notes, a dialogue at the 110-minute and 23-second mark referencing "Ambedkar sattam... to... TVK sattam" was modified as part of the certification process.
The film was initially scheduled to release on January 9 but was delayed after multiple rounds of certification. KVN Productions later approached the Madras High Court seeking expedited approval. Even as the certification process continued, the film's complete HD version surfaced on piracy websites, leading to a police investigation and arrests of several individuals including a freelance editor.
