What is the story about?
The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, led by Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, has had a decent first weekend, just shy of Rs 35 crore. The Hindi film,
directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, is inspired by the real Van Devi Temple, Bihta near Patna, and its folklore. On its release date on September 25, The VVan went up against films such as The Paradise, Dorothy, Avengers Endgame: Encore, and Primetime at the box office. However, globally, the film has seen a slow start, with grosses nearly matching that of back home.
The Vvaan Box Office Collection Day 3
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, The Vvan earned Rs 14 crore from 7,135 shows on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The Hindi film saw a growth of 24.4 per cent Saturday's collection of Rs 11.25 crore. In a positive note, The VVan saw double-digit collections on both days of its first weekend, after earning Rs 8 crore on opening day. This brings its total India nett collections to Rs 33.25 crore, while the fantasy thriller's worldwide gross collection stands at Rs 43.15 crore.
Despite the average collections of The VVan, the Hindi film has outperformed actor Sidharth Malhotra's previous theatrical releases such as Jabariya Jodi, Marjaavaan, Thank God, Yodha and Param Sundari. The film reportedly has a budget of between Rs 80 crore and Rs 100 crore and will need to hold strong in the coming weeks. The upcoming Gandhi Jayanti weekend will see the release of two biggies with Ajay Devgan's Drishyam 3 remake and Tom Cruise's new Hollywood film, Digger.

Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari, with Balaji Motion Pictures, TVF Motion Pictures and 11:11 Productions, The VVan sees Sidharth Malhotra as a builder from Mumbai named Rishi Kumar who defies his ancestral village Devanchal's forbidden forest and awakens a divine goddess. Along with his wife, Mamta, played Tamannaah Bhatia, Rishi must stand up to forces beyond his control to protect the villagers from destruction.
The ensemble cast includes Anup Soni, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover, Maniesh Paul, Milind Gunaji, Avtar Gill and Panchayat's Durgesh Kumar. Written by The Viral Fever founder Arunabh Kumar, The VVan is Deepak Kumar Mishra's directorial debut, mixing elements of folk horror, mythology and action. Mishra had earlier directed the Amazon Prime Video web series Panchayat. Tanishk Bagchi, Vishal Mishra and Amit Trivedi have all contributed to the score of the Hindi film.
