Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 is one of the most awaited films of 2026. Releasing on August 14 in theatres, the Nitin Kakkar directed film is a sequel to
the Emraan and Shriya Saran’s cult classic, Awarapan. Recently, the makers dropped a new video from the film, Yeh Awarapan, on social media. It is indeed a special one for many people, as the song has been sung by Arijit Singh, who announced his retirement from playback singing a few months ago. The brand-new emotional track brings back the same emotion, depth and timelessness, all thanks to Arijit’s soulful voice.
Arijit Singh’s Voice Makes Yeh Awarapan Special
Yeh Awarapan begins with Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit, who is grieving for the loss of his love. The song is soaked in love, longing and redemption. Emraan expresses powerful emotions through his raw and brooding looks. The emotion quotient of Yeh Awarapan is too high, as it could easily leave you teary-eyed. It carries the same emotion, depth and timeliness from the first part of Awarapan.
Yeh Awarapan fully focuses on Shivam Pandit. Some glimpses of Shriya Saran from the prequel take us back into the nostalgic lane. Disha Patani, who plays the role of female lead in Awarapan 2, is missing from the song. It looks like the makers want to keep her character details under wraps to generate buzz around the film.
