Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has spoken out strongly against the brutal killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. On Thursday, (December 25,2025),

the Gunjan Saxena star penned a long note to condemn what she described as barbaric and deeply inhumane violence. In her note, Janhvi urged people to acknowledge the reality of public lynching and communal hatred rather than ignoring it out of convenience or indifference. She stressed that such acts are not isolated incidents and questioned the silence and hypocrisy of those who fail to feel anger or demand accountability. Expanding her message beyond borders, the actor highlighted how people often express outrage over distant tragedies while ignoring the suffering of their own communities. Janhvi called for the condemnation of communal discrimination and extremism in every form, whether one is a victim or a perpetrator. Emphasising awareness and education, she encouraged individuals to recognise false divisions and equip themselves with knowledge.

She started her note on her Instagram Story by writing Dipu Chandra Das' name and added, "What is happening in Bangladesh is barbaric. It is slaughter and it is not an isolated incident. If you don't know about his inhumane public lynching, read about it, see the videos, ask the questions. And if despite all of this you feel no rage, then it is exactly this kind of hypocrisy that will destroy us before we know it."

She added, "We will continue to cry about things half way across the globe while our own brothers and sisters are burnt to death. Communal discrimination and extremism in any and every form, wether we are the victims or the perpetrators - needs to be called out and condemned before we forget our humanity. We are pawns that believe we reside on either side of an invisible line. Recognise this. And equip yourself with knowledge so u can take a stand for the innocent lives that are continuously lost and terrorised in this communal cross fire."

What we know about mob lynching incident in Bangladesh

Dipu Chandra Das, a 25-year-old Hindu garment factory worker, was killed by a mob in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, on Thursday night, December 18, 2025, over alleged blasphemy, PTI reported. He worked at the Pioneer Knit Composite Factory in the Square Masterbari area, according to NDTV. His father, Ravilal Das, said the family learned about the incident through social media. At least 12 people have been arrested in connection with the case.
