The project is expected to be an international outing for Batra, who has previously directed films such as The Lunchbox, The Sense Of An Ending, and Our Souls At Night.

Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan have been spoken about as potential co-stars in the past, but a collaboration never happened. Filmfare reports that the two actors are now in talks for Ritesh Batra’s next international film. The project is currently in the discussion stage, so details about the story, characters, and production schedule are not known yet.
Interestingly, Priyanka had spoken about her desire to work with Saif back in 2012. At the time, she called him an incredible actor and revealed that they were supposed to work together on two or three films. However, those projects did not take off, with scheduling reportedly being one of the reasons. More than a decade later, the two stars could finally get an opportunity to collaborate.
For Ritesh Batra, the reported project would mark his return to feature filmmaking after Photograph, which starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra and released in 2019. Batra is best known internationally for The Lunchbox, which starred Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He has also directed international films including The Sense Of An Ending and Our Souls At Night.
