Shefali Shah’s illustrious career includes her projects across various mediums. From films to OTT, she has been loved in different avatars and characters.
In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Shefali opened up about her equation with box office numbers. She revealed whether numbers matter to her.
Shefali Shah on box office numbers
Shefali told Zoom exclusively that she is in a happy space where there is no need to stress over box office numbers. “No film has depended on me for its success at the box office, so I'm very happy about it. I don’t have the responsibility and never carry it on my shoulders and I am not a star. Box office numbers don’t work because of me. I'm very happy in my space.”

She further added, “I don’t even know what box office is. I know more about it because of the pull. Today you can go to any family function, and an uncle is discussing numbers of a film. Kya bol rahe ho? Aapko kya pata iske baare mein? Do you know what goes into making the film? The success of the film is not just about the money, it's also about how much what's put into it and the ratio with which you decide the profit it makes. It's a lot of things. But for me I haven't had any film on the box office that is solely with me. For me going to cinema is like is a culture enough. I look forward to the weekend and visiting a theatre to watch the latest film and eat our samosas.”
