Who Was The Debut Filmfare OTT Best Actor In A Series Winner?
The debut Filmfare OTT Awards was started in 2020 in Mumbai and included films and web series released between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020. Paatal Lok led the ceremony with 11 nominations, followed by Breathe: Into the Shadows and Special Ops with 8 nominations each, and Aarya, Panchayat and The Family Man with 7 nominations each.

The Best Actor (Male) in a Drama Series saw tough competitiors in Abhishek Bachchan, whow as nominated for his act in Breathe: Into the Shadows, Arshad Warsi for Asur, Kay Kay Menon for Special Ops, Manoj Bajpayee for The Family Man and Jaideep Ahlawat for Paatal Lok. Ultimately the winner's trophy was taken home by Jaideep Ahlawat for his riveting act as the cynical copy Hathiram Chowdhary in the Sudip Sharma show.
Paatal Lok
Created by Sudip Sharma, the Paatal Lok Season 1 stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Niharika Lyra Dutt, and Richa Chaturvedi and is loosely based on Tarun Tajpal's 2010 novel The Story of My Assassins. The series would go on to win five awards at the inaugural Filmfare OTT Awards, from eight nominations. Apart from Best Actor, the series also won Best Series, Best Original Story, Best Screenplay and Best Direction.
Jaideep Ahlawat, Paatal Lok Season 2 And Filmfare OTT Awards 2025
Interestingly, Jaideep Ahlawat has been nominated once again for Best Actor for Paatal Lok, this time for Season 2 of the show. While Ahlawat and Panag reprised their roles from the first season, the second part saw the addition of Tillotama Shome, Jahnu Barua, Nagesh Kukunoor and Prashant Tamang.
