What is the story about?
Prabhas could have two major releases in March 2027, with his period action drama Fauzi reportedly eyeing a March 18 theatrical debut. Initially planned
for December 2026, the film is said to require more time as shooting continues. The reported release window has also sparked speculation about a possible change to Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which is currently scheduled to hit theatres on March 5, 2027. Meanwhile, the makers have confirmed that Spirit will receive an A certificate from the censor board. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has said the certification is in accordance with the film's violent content.
Prabhas' Fauzi Reportedly Targets March 2027 Release
Prabhas' upcoming period drama Fauzi is reportedly being planned for a March 18, 2027 theatrical release, according to Gulte. The film was earlier expected to reach cinemas in December 2026, but its release date has reportedly changed.
The team is currently said to be working on the film's interval sequence, with shooting expected to conclude by mid-December 2026. Reports have also suggested that the makers are considering October 23 for the teaser launch, which falls on Prabhas' birthday. Neither the teaser plan nor the proposed theatrical date has received official confirmation.
Meanwhile, Spirit, another Prabhas-starrer directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga is scheduled to release on March 5, 2027. If the new date for Fauzi is finalised, the actor could have two big films arriving within the same month. However, there is no confirmed announcement of a schedule change for Spirit.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi features Prabhas in the role of an officer in a fictional story set against a historical backdrop. The cast includes Imanvi, who makes her acting debut with the film, alongside veteran performers Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Jaya Prada.
Ravi Shankar On Fauzi's Postponement
Mythri Movie Makers producer Ravi Shankar had also shared details on the revised timeline of Fauzi, calling the project as a large-scale production. He said, “Fauzi is being pushed a little bit, but it's a next-level movie. You haven't seen Prabhas look so grand since Baahubali. It's a movie of that scale. However, I am sorry that we are pushing it (release date) a bit further. You will cherish it for a lifetime. It's such a massive and great movie,” Ravi Shankar said.” Meanwhile, a T-Series spokesperson previously told Zoom that Spirit would retain its announced release date.
“We are very much on track with the release of Spirit. The film is slated to release on March 5, 2027, and there is absolutely no change to the announced release date,” the spokesperson said.
