What is the story about?
Several Tollywood celebrities have received notices amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. According to the List

Some of them received notices for being 'Unmapped with Last SIR'. Besides them, sportspersons like VVS Laxman, Mithali Raj, Saina Nehwal and others received notices.
Tollywood celebrities receive SIR notices
As per the list, Mahesh Babu, Vijay and his younger brother Anand Deverakonda, Samantha, Rajamouli, and Namrata were unmapped in the last SIR, whereas Suma Kanakala received the notice for 'Self Name Mismatch'. As per reports, Venkatesh's daughters have also been named in the list.
What does Unmapped with Last SIR mean?
In case of 'Unmapped with Last SIR', Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will ask the elector for information related to the elector’s residence in 2002-2004, such as the State, district, constituency, or taluka. Based on this information, the BLO can retrieve the previous SIR details through the ECINet app or the portal. Electors may also collect this information themselves from the app or portal before the BLO’s visit.
All details regarding Special Intensive Revision roll in India
As per official details, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is the process of preparing fresh Electoral Rolls to ensure that the Electoral Roll for Legislative Assembly constituencies in the State is accurate, complete, and free from errors. A Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Roll was conducted across the country during 2002–2004. Since then, factors such as rapid urbanisation, migration of citizens, death of electors, and duplication of names have created the need to prepare fresh Electoral Rolls. Therefore, this programme is being implemented in phases throughout the country.
While the SIR visits in Maharashtra ended in August, the date in Telangana has been extended to November 9 by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
How will it affect Tollywood celebrities?
Celebrities named in the list have not violated any rule imposed by the Election Commission of India (ECI), but they must complete the necessary procedures to prevent their names from being struck off the final roll. Since there are high-profile members on the list, the Election Commission allows an authorised representative to attend the official verification hearing on their behalf.
