What is the story about?
After actress Mrunal Thakur and cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal were seen exiting the same cafe in Bandra, Mumbai, last month speculation arose that they could
be perhaps dating. A social media post commenting on their age difference not only caught fans' eyes, but the actress also reacted to the false claim and shared a comment putting an end to the speculation. Her comment condemned the gossip and asked them to write some real news instead. Earlier, reports claimed to link Mrunal to Tamil actor Dhanush after he made an appearance at a Son of Sardaar 2 event and interacted with the actress. Few reports had even claimed that the duo were going to get married.
Mrunal Thakur rubbishes romance rumours with Yashavi Jaiswal
The Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai actress commented on a social media post on Instagram that asked if Mrunal was dating the cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is 9 years younger than her. The video shows Mrunal and Yashasvi having a brief conversation after which the actress leaves.
Her comment asked where it was evident that she and Yashasvi were together. She wrote, "Bro relax… show me ek sath kahan? Kaise yaar, aap log itne padhe likhe log aise afwaao ko sach manne lagte hain? [Show me where we are together? How? You guys are well educated, and yet you manage to spread such gossip.]"
The second part of her comment stated that there were so many other things happening in our country. Mrunal asked them to learn from Gen Z and concentrate on real issues. Mrunal's fans also defended the actress, with many pointing out that she and Yashasvi happened to be at the same place at the same time. They also chided them for spreading fake news.

Who is Yashasvi Jaiswal?
The 24-year-old rising cricketer from Uttar Pradesh has been playing the sport since he was a young boy. However, 2015 was his breakout year with an outstanding performance in a Giles Shield match. He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on 7 January 2019 and his international debut against the West Indies in 2023. Yashavi represents the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and was featured in last year's Time 100 Next list as one to watch.
