What's Happening?
Admission Crew, LLC has launched a new educational initiative aimed at parents of middle school students in the Bay Area. Led by college adviser Archana Sudame, the program seeks to educate families on the academic decisions made before high school that
can significantly impact college admissions and completion. The initiative includes partnerships with local non-profits and offers mini-conferences to help parents understand course selection and skill development. This approach is designed to address the rising costs of college education and the challenges of completing a degree within four years.
Why It's Important?
This initiative addresses a critical gap in the education system by focusing on the early academic decisions that shape a student's future opportunities. With college costs rising and completion rates stagnating, providing guidance at the middle school level can help families make informed choices that enhance their children's educational trajectories. The program is particularly beneficial for immigrant and first-generation families who may be less familiar with the U.S. education system, potentially reducing educational disparities and improving college readiness.
