The Newport Sea Base youth rowing team has clinched its third national championship title at the USRowing Youth National Championships in Florida. The team, consisting of Parker Johnson, Troy Soltesz, Shayne Centra, Linus Depiereux, and coxswain Devyn
Costello, won the men's youth 4+ race with a time of 6 minutes, 36.18 seconds. This victory marks the third national title for the team, following previous wins in 2022 and 2024. The Newport Sea Base program, which qualified 60 athletes for the nationals, also saw success in the women's U16 4x+ category, securing a silver medal. The Newport Aquatic Center, another local program, earned silver medals in the men's U17 4+ and women's U17 8+ categories, highlighting the strength of youth rowing in the Newport area.
