and north of Interstate 40, will span approximately 3,000 acres. New York-based renewable energy developer DESRI plans to construct approximately 400 megawatts of solar panels and 400 megawatts of battery storage capacity. Construction on the first phase is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2028. The IRBs do not represent a direct payment from the county or taxpayers but rather provide the company with abatements from personal property taxes and gross receipts, amounting to an approximately 70% abatement on county taxes.
