Weidmuller USA has released findings from its 2026 PCB Design Tools and Component Selection Survey, which involved 400 engineers across North America. The survey aimed to understand the integration of AI tools in PCB design workflows. Results showed that
over 90% of engineers have incorporated AI-based tools into their processes, with 75% viewing these tools as enhancing productivity and accelerating design iterations. The survey also highlighted that reliability is the top priority for engineers when selecting components, with performance being a key factor for switching products. Additionally, nearly half of the engineers finalize component selections during the early concept or schematic design phases.
