BAE Systems, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, has introduced the Blizzard stand-in jammer at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026. This new technology, developed by BAE Systems' Falconworks and Lockheed Martin's Skunkworks, is designed to
be deployed from both manned and unmanned aircraft, such as the Eurofighter Typhoon and F-35. The Blizzard, weighing approximately 181 kg, is comparable in size to a Paveway IV guided munition. It is intended for use against targets like radars and surface-to-air missile batteries. The system is currently undergoing captive carry and release trials, with a full flight test planned. BAE Systems aims to have the Blizzard production-ready by the end of 2027. The Blizzard's rocket engine provides a range of several hundred kilometers, potentially surpassing similar systems like the Tekever and Leonardo StormShroud.
