Qualys has launched InstaScan, a new scanless detection capability designed to address the rapid weaponization of vulnerabilities in an AI-accelerated threat landscape. Traditional scan-driven detection methods, which have been effective for nearly two
decades, are now considered inadequate due to the speed at which cyber adversaries can exploit vulnerabilities. InstaScan, powered by Agent Insta, aims to eliminate the delay between vulnerability disclosure and detection by continuously correlating new advisories against existing software and asset telemetry. This approach allows for the detection of vulnerabilities within minutes of disclosure, without the need for scheduled scans. The system is designed to provide over 90% coverage across technologies that constitute a significant portion of enterprise vulnerability volume.
