Virgin Atlantic has finalized a multi-year partnership with Joby Aviation to offer air taxi services in the UK. This collaboration, announced at the Farnborough Airshow, will see Virgin Atlantic marketing Joby's electric air taxis, which are designed
for urban passenger operations. The partnership builds on Joby's existing collaboration with Delta Air Lines, which holds a significant stake in Virgin Atlantic. Joby will manage flight operations and regulatory approvals, while Virgin Atlantic will focus on infrastructure and customer acquisition. The air taxis, featuring six tiltrotors for vertical takeoff and landing, are expected to operate on routes up to 160 km at speeds of 300 km/h.
