Delta Air Lines, in collaboration with Minnesota leaders and partners, has inaugurated a new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blending facility at Flint Hills Resources' Pine Bend Refinery. This facility marks a significant advancement in expanding SAF availability
at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), Delta's second-largest hub. The facility is capable of blending up to 30 million gallons of neat SAF annually, which can significantly reduce carbon emissions compared to conventional jet fuel. The initiative is part of a broader effort by the Minnesota SAF Hub, a coalition launched in 2023, to build a regional SAF economy.
