What's Happening?
Avery Dennison has introduced ReadyDPP, a comprehensive solution designed to help apparel brands comply with the European Union's Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements. This offering includes software, digital ID technology, labels, and support
services, aimed at preparing brands for upcoming regulations. The launch coincides with the EU's central DPP registry going live, emphasizing the urgency for compliance. ReadyDPP is available in three tiers, allowing brands to scale their solutions as legislation evolves. The initiative reflects the growing importance of item-level product data in enhancing data management and combating counterfeiting.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of ReadyDPP highlights the increasing regulatory pressure on apparel brands to provide detailed product information. Compliance with DPP requirements not only ensures adherence to EU regulations but also offers brands a competitive advantage by enhancing transparency and consumer trust. The ability to leverage item-level data can lead to improved customer engagement, reduced counterfeiting, and support for sustainable practices. As the textile-specific Delegated Act approaches, brands must adapt to these changes to maintain market access and capitalize on new business opportunities.
