Cool Carriers has expanded its fleet with the addition of the MV Snow Flake, the second vessel in its next-generation Snow-class series. This move reinforces Cool Carriers' status as the world's largest operator of specialized refrigerated cargo vessels.
The MV Snow Flake was officially named on June 29 at Kitanihon Shipbuilding in Japan, following the delivery of its sister ship, Snow Flower, three months prior. The vessel is designed for the global refrigerated cargo trade, boasting increased cargo capacity and improved environmental performance. It can transport up to 5,000 high-cube pallets of refrigerated cargo below deck and accommodate 168 refrigerated containers, with a combined capacity of up to 14,000 pallets. The ship maintains a service speed of 18 knots, facilitating the rapid movement of time-sensitive cargoes across global trade routes. The vessel's design includes advanced hull forms, optimized propulsion systems, and fuel-efficient engines to comply with stringent environmental regulations.
