What's Happening?
Lubrizol, in partnership with Grasim, has inaugurated a new CPVC resin plant in Vilayat, India. This facility, along with the expanded CPVC compounding capacity at Lubrizol's Dahej site, aims to create a robust and integrated manufacturing footprint in India. The
plant is designed to meet the growing demand for high-performance plumbing and piping solutions in the country. It will provide a reliable local supply of CPVC resin and compounds, which are essential for various applications in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Abhishek Shrivastav, Managing Director of Lubrizol IMEA, emphasized the company's commitment to India, highlighting the investment as a step towards ensuring consistent access to high-quality materials produced locally.
Why It's Important?
The establishment of this plant is significant for India's infrastructure development, particularly in enhancing the supply chain resilience for CPVC products. As India continues to expand its infrastructure, the demand for reliable plumbing and piping solutions is expected to rise. This local manufacturing capability not only supports the country's infrastructure goals but also aligns with the government's 'Make in India' initiative, which encourages local production. By reducing dependency on imports, the plant could lead to cost efficiencies and quicker delivery times for CPVC products, benefiting various stakeholders in the construction and industrial sectors.
