Doug Herbert, a multi-time NHRA Top Fuel drag racing champion, is set to unveil his latest project, 'THE BEAST NextGEN', at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah. The unveiling is scheduled for July 31, 2026, during the Bonneville Speedweek. Although
the vehicle is still under construction, Herbert plans to present it to the Southern California Timing Association's (SCTA) technical staff for approval. The BEAST NextGEN is designed to compete in the AA/BFS class, aiming for a speed of 500 MPH. This project is a tribute to Herbert's late father, Chet Herbert, a renowned hot rod innovator, and his sons, Jon and James, who tragically passed away in a car accident. The project has received support from notable figures in the racing community, including NASCAR legend Ray Evernham and Dr. Eric Warren of General Motors.
