What's Happening?
Nelson Resources has announced the discovery of high-grade gold-silver mineralization at the Orleans Mine, part of its Gold Point Project in Nevada, USA. The company conducted underground channel sampling on the 400-foot level, revealing significant gold and
silver grades. The highest recorded was 1.83 meters at 113.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 119 g/t silver. These findings extend the known mineralization approximately 10 meters below the previously sampled 300-foot level. The results suggest a broader, structurally controlled vein system rather than isolated occurrences. Nelson plans to further explore these findings by drilling up to 15 underground diamond holes to test extensions and unmined positions. The company aims to incorporate these high-grade positions into a comprehensive three-dimensional model.
Why It's Important?
The discovery of high-grade mineralization at the Orleans Mine is significant for Nelson Resources as it enhances the potential value of the Gold Point Project. This development could attract further investment and interest in the project, potentially boosting the company's market position. For the U.S. mining industry, such discoveries contribute to the domestic supply of precious metals, which is crucial for economic stability and reducing reliance on foreign sources. The findings also underscore the potential for further exploration and development in the Walker Lane district, a historically rich mining area. Stakeholders, including investors and local communities, stand to benefit from increased economic activity and job creation associated with the project's expansion.
What's Next?
Nelson Resources plans to proceed with a detailed drilling program to further explore the mineralization at the Orleans Mine. The company will use a Bazooka rig to drill up to 15 underground diamond holes, targeting extensions beyond existing workings and unmined positions. Additionally, initial metallurgical testing of the vein and remnant mineralization is underway. These steps are crucial for developing a robust understanding of the ore body and planning future mining operations. The company has an agreement to earn up to a 90% interest in the Gold Point Project, indicating a long-term commitment to developing the site. The results of the drilling and testing will likely influence future investment and operational decisions.
