The 2026 West Virginia Book Festival is set to feature several renowned authors, including R.L. Stine, creator of the 'Goosebumps' series, and Margot Lee Shetterly, author of 'Hidden Figures.' The festival will take place on October 24 at the Charleston
Coliseum & Convention Center. This annual event, now in its 23rd year, will also host bestselling authors such as Craig Johnson, known for the 'Walt Longmire Mystery' series, and Kate Quinn, a historical fiction writer. The festival will include writing workshops, author presentations, and children's programs. It is sponsored by the Charleston Gazette-Mail, the Kanawha County Public Library, the Library Foundation of Kanawha County, and the West Virginia Humanities Council.
