Debi Derryberry, known for voicing Patricia in Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress from 1994 until this summer, will return to the attraction as the voice of the Grandmother. This casting was announced on October 4 during the D23 Spotlight Series: 55 Magical
Years of Storytelling. Derryberry is the third voice confirmed for the updated version of the show, which is set to reopen at Walt Disney World in late spring 2027. Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis were previously announced in August at D23 as the voices for John and Sarah, the father and mother, respectively. The Carousel of Progress closed on July 6 for its most significant overhaul since 1994, which includes moving all four scenes to new time periods and adding an Audio-Animatronic of Walt Disney in a new opening scene.
